Day 113: 3/16/17 - B Day: Reciting Persuasive Essays, & Collaborating about Multiple choice Test Questions

Good day 6th Graders,      
       Today we will finish sharing our persuasive speeches. We will also collaborate about our multiple choice answers on Snow Way.  Please make sure you have:
  • Red Folder & Agenda
  • ELA Notebook
  • Independent Reading book

1. Sharpen Your Pencils
2. Fill out your Agenda with tonight's Homework
3. Take out your persuasive essay (If you have not shared it yet)
4. Hand in your Snow Way Homework to me on my desk

Reciting your Persuasive Speech

Standards
RI6.8 - Trace and evaluate the argument and specific claims in a text, distinguishing claims that are supported by reasons and evidence from claims that are not.

W6.1 Write arguments to support claims with clear and relevant evidence.

SL6.4 Present claims and findings, sequencing ideas logically and using pertinent descriptions facts and details to accentuate main ideas or themes; use appropriate eye contact, adequate volume, and clear pronunciation.

Start by introducing your speech. Begin by saying:

    • Go back in the text and underline evidence that supports your thinking.
    • Be sure to number the evidence when you find it.
