Day 121: 3/29/19 - A Day: Review of Environmental Issues & Online State Test Practice

Good day 6th Graders,      
       Believe it or not the Common Core State tests are right around the corner. Today we will try an online practice state test.

Do Now: 
1. Fill out your Agenda with tonight's Homework
2. Log in to your Computer
Homework:
  • Read for 20 minutes
Regular schedule until 2:15. (RTI 1 will be cut short and their will not be any RTI2).

At 2:15 all students are to report to their homeroom to prepare for the “PEP for the Test” Celebration”.

At 2:30 we head out for the parade.

After the parade kiddos can return to their HR


Then the may watch Boy Meets World. Play Episode 4

Today's video is a review of some of the major Environmental Issues. Some you have already been introduced too, while others might be new topics.

Preparing for the NY State Common Core Test
Standards

RL6.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details
RL6.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings

RL6.5 Analyze how a particular sentence, chapter, scene, or stanza fits into the overall structure of a text & contributes to the development of the theme, setting, or plot.

Directions: 
1. Go to our classroom Blog
2. Click on the Link for the NYS Test Practice
3. Select a Subject (ELA)
4. Select Grade 6
5. Pick Test Sampler 2
6. Read the passages and answer the Multiple Choice, and extended response questions that follow. 
7. Practice using the online tools, and become familiar with how to use them.

*Remember: This is like a scrimmage for the big game. You should act as though it was the actual test. Your volume level should be at level "0" and you should be focused on doing your best.
