Day #145 - 5/11/15 - Unit 4 Lesson 7: Ch 7, Writing Key Words and Questions for Research

Good Morning Rebels, 
        Happy Monday!!! Did you all have a wonderful weekend and get outside in nature to enjoy the beautiful weather. I hope you all got your homework done. Today is an ‘A’ day so we will go to Music. Remember to order your lunch, sharpen your pencils, and then work on the Point to Ponder.

I can read chapter 7 to learn what two things have caused the death of many peregrine falcons.
In this chapter, Frightful survives a near-death experience thanks to a person named Jon. However, many peregrine falcons have not survived and the birds have become an endangered species. What are two things that have caused the death of many peregrine falcons? Use evidence from the text to support your answer.

Independent Reading & Research

Directions for Independent Reading:
Read for 15 - 20 minutes without interruption. Then complete your reading log activities.
Reading Logs will be due Friday, May 8th. 
I expect this weeks Independent Reading Logs to be an improvement over last weeks.

Directions for Research:
Finish your Research Graphic Organizer.
1. Choose your environmental issue
2. Write your general questions to establish the two sides of your issue.
3. Write down the two sides of the issue.
4. Decide where you stand and write your thesis statement. (use the model/example I gave you in your outline.)
5. Write your research Question. Let your thesis guide you when you write your research question.
Research
Once your Thesis Statement and Research Question has been approved you can begin generating your list of Key Words and Questions. You will begin gathering information and printing articles tomorrow!

& complete your Lit Circle Job
