          Happy Poetry Reading Day!!!!!! I am very proud of you and I'm excited to hear you recite your poems.

  • Fill out your Agenda with tonight's Homework
  • TRIVIA: Pick up a trivia card from the front table and take turns asking and answering each other questions.
    • Categories
      • PP = People & Places
      • GT = Good Times (Entertainment)
      • ST = Science & Technology
      • AC = Arts & Culture
      • NW = Natural World
      • GH = Games & Hobbies

Preparing for the Poetry Reading
Directions:
  • Get poems out
  • Hand in entries for the Cover
  • Hand out snacks and treats.
Activity #2
Poetry Reading
Standards:
SL6.4 - Present claims and findings sequencing ideas logically and using pertinent descriptions, facts, and details to accentuate main ideas and themes; use appropriate eye contact, adequate volume, and clear pronunciation.

  • Start by saying, "Hello, the title of my first poem is ________________ ." 
  • Then read your poem. Make sure you read the pauses. Don't race through your poems. Read LOUD and PROUD!
  • Finish by saying, "Thank You"
  • Then say, "The title of my next poem is ___________ ."
  • Finish by saying, "Thank You"
