Day 3: 9/7/18 - C Day: Reading Attitude Survey, This or That, Blobs & Lines, & Anchor Charts for Rules

Good Morning 6th Graders,
          Today is a 'C' Day. Make sure you have everything you need for class, and please hand in any important forms that you have returned to school.

DO NOW:
1. Write your homework in your agenda
2. Hand in the "Who are You?" shield into the Red bin for your block
3. Hand in the photo/video consent forms to me 
4. Work on the Reading Attitude Survey. 
Read each question and circle the 'Garfield' that corresponds with the way you feel about each. 
(When everyone is done I will show you how to score it)
Homework: 
1. Bring in an Independent Reading Book
2. Finish the "Who are You?" activity if you have not yet completed it

    Creating Anchor Charts to establish Classroom Rules
    Standard SL6.1 - Engage Effectively in a range of collaborative discussions with diverse partners on grade 6 topics, building on each others' ideas and expressing your own ideas clearly.
    Rule #1 - Be Respectful

    Rule #2 - Be Responsible

    Rule #3 - Show Integrity

    Key questions to consider:
    1. What is (respect, responsibility, integrity)
    2. What does (respect, responsibility, integrity) look like at school, with your homework, with your teachers, with your self with each other?
    3. What does (respect, responsibility, integrity) sound like at school, with your homework, with your teachers, with your self, and with others?
    4. How can you show (respect, responsibility, integrity) with your work, teachers, yourself and others?

    Directions:

      • Work with your group members to discuss each rule/character trait.
      • Then, on scrap paper, create a list of ways we can show those character traits in school, with ourselves, with each other, with our teachers, and with our schoolwork
      • Choose a spokesperson to share the information.
