Station #4
Writing Workshop
  • Standard W6.3 Write Narratives using effective technique, relative descriptive details, and a well structured sequence
Quick Write:
Practice writing an entry using the strategies we have worked on in the first 3 writing workshop sessions. For today's entry I want to you try to write about a 'first' time, or 'last' time moment. You may write one entry that is at least one page long, or you may write multiple entries if you are struggling to write one long entry. The goal is to have several narrative entries to pick from when we go to develop a full length narrative writing piece.

Remember to:
1. Write in detail (do not summarize a stretch of time)
2. Help Readers picture the episode - a small action and exact dialogue.

Homework -
1. Finish Frayer Models

2. Read Chapter 21 & 22. Complete Cornell notes.
  • RL6.1 Making Inferences and supporting your analysis with evidence
  • RL6.3 Describe how the plot unfolds in a series of events

  • 6 - 8 annotations
  • 3 - 4 questions using DOK Stems (Depth of Knowledge)
    • Include a level 1, 2, & 3 Question
  • and a summary
Essential Question: What inferences can you make about the text in chapter 21 & 22?
