Point to Ponder: 
1. Take out your homework and share your reading log with the people at your table. Get a friend to write a question on your reading log.

Learning Stations

#1 Guided Reading (We do)
Using Cornell Notes to align the main character from your guided reading book with the hero's journey.
  • Objective = Aligning Two Texts
  • Write an essential question
    • How does _________________ fit the pattern of the hero's journey, and what part of the hero's journey?
  • Use the depth of knowledge stems to write a level 1, 2, & 3 question before reading.
  • Write  notes while reading about main events and big ideas.
  • Focus on events that will help you answer the essential question.
    #2 Independent Reading (You do)
    • Read: Finish reading the assigned pages 
    • Build Vocabulary: Add words from your Guided Reading book to your list of vocabulary words
    • Finish the Cornell notes, including a well organized summary of your reading. 
    #3 Word Work (You do)
    • Work on a frayer model poster for one of the vocabulary words from your guided reading book
    #4 Work on Writing (You do)
    • Read Pages 42-49 in the "World" Textbook
      • Answer "Think about It" Questions on pg 49 (#1-4)
    • Read Pages 52-57 in the "World" Textbook
      • Answer "Think about It" Questions on pg 57 (#1-3, 5)
    #5 Computer - Open Ed
    You will need to bring your agenda with you to computers so you can log in to your open ed account.

    • Step 1: Under the LINKS tab, click on the open ed link
    • Step 2: Choose one of the activities to try or one of the videos to watch. 
    • Step 3: Be sure you complete each assignment to the best of your ability.
    Homework: Read Ring of Horses. Answer questions # 1 - 6
