Reading Strategies: 
Summarizing & Following Plot Structure

What events did you add to your chronology of events from your last reading?

    #2 Independent Reading (You do)
    • Read: Finish reading the assigned pages 
    • Build Vocabulary: Add words from your Guided Reading book to your list of vocabulary words
    • Summarize: Add 2 - 3 events to your Chronology of events
    #3 Word Work (You do)
    • Use the dictionary and the Word Central Link to create Frayer Models of words on your Word List
    #4 Work on Writing (You do)
    Writing Prompt: Read the 1st Stage of Act 1 of the Hero's Journey. Describe how you know Harry Potter is on the Hero's Journey. How does he feel out of place in the ordinary world. Use 3 - 4 specific details, or pieces of evidence, from the text to support your thinking.


    Write a full paragraph including:
    1 - Intro
    2 - Claim
    3 - Details & Evidence
    4 - Conclusion

    #5 Computer - Paleolithic Slideshow & T-Chart (You do)
    Go to the link above to view the slide show about the Paleolithic Age. Complete the Paleolithic age side of your T-chart in your Social Studies Journal. Include as much information as you can.
