Day #4 - 9/11/15 - Unit 1: Setting Reading Goals, Annotating Text & How to pick a good fit book

Good Morning 6th Graders,
Today is a 'D' Day so we will go to Library and Technology. Please be sure to sharpen your pencils and order your lunch. Then open up your reading journals to the responses you wrote last night so that I can check your homework. Also, hand in any important forms that you still have not handed in yet.
The first thing I want you to do today is work with your table members to complete the Real Readers vs. Fake Readers activity. First cut out the phrases from page 2. Then discuss and organize them on the T-chart on page 1. Once you feel confident about your arrangement please glue them to the t-chart. Lastly, you may quietly read at your seat.
                        Thank you
                       Mr. Trumble

  1. I know the difference between Real Readers & Fake Readers.
  2. I know how to choose a good fit book at my independent reading level.
