Day #91 - 2/4/15 - Mod 2A Unit 1 Lesson 7: Steve Jobs' Speech & Chapter 7 of Bud, Not Buddy

Good Morning, 
           I am sad to say that I will miss school today because I have the Flu. Today is a ‘B’ day so you will go to Gym. We will continue reading Steve Jobs' commencement speech and we will move on to chapter 7 of Bud, Not Buddy. Please pick up an Ipad work on the Point to Ponder.

  1. I can read paragraphs 6-8 of the Steve Jobs Speech closely in order to answer text-dependent questions.
  2. I can choose details from paragraphs 6-8 of Steve Jobs’ speech to support a claim.
  3. I can connect the events described by Steve Jobs (Paragraphs 1-8) to those experienced by Bud in the novel Bud, not Buddy.

As we read we will be:
  1. recording unfamiliar words in our word catcher
  2. tracking Bud’s Rules

    As we reread or listen we will be thinking about:
    • the meaning of the phrase, “You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future."
    • What is Steve Jobs message in paragraph 6 - 8 and how are his experiences connected to Bud’s experiences.
