Pre - Reading
- What was the prediction you wrote for chapter 5: The Whomping Willow? What made you think that? Share your predictions with your table group.
- Think about the Hero's Journey and what we've read so far in chapters 1 - 4. Use the Depth of knowledge hand out to help you write a question.
- Evaluate yourself. Did you ask a level 1, 2, or 3 question?
During - Reading
- Use the Cornell Notes to record important events, main ideas, or other details you think are important to Harry Potter and the Hero's Journey he is on.
Post - Reading (You Do)
- Use your notes and your depth of knowledge chart to try and write a level 1, 2, and 3 question.
- Share your questions with the students at your table group.
- Discuss your thoughts about each question.
- Pick the best level 1, level 2, and level 3 question to write down and share with the class.
