Good Morning,
I hope you were all respectful and responsible students while I was out. Today is an ‘E' day. It is also Day #20 of school. Please be sure you order your lunch, sharpen your pencils, and then begin working on the Point to Ponder.
                          Thank you,
                          Mrs. Sargent & Mr. T
P2P: Reflect- Think about your behavior with the sub yesterday. Write 1 thing you think you did well, and 1 thing you can improve upon for the next substitute teacher.
For Lesson 10 - Part II

  • I can get the gist of an excerpt from The Lightning Thief.
  • I can answer questions using evidence about an excerpt from The Lightning Thief
  • I can select evidence from both The Lightning Thief and “The Hero’s Journey” that shows how Percy is on a hero’s journey.
Based on today’s Learning Targets, what do you think we will be doing in today’s lesson?

If we are going to be selecting evidence, we must be reading closely. What are some things Close Readers do?

Remember that:
Archetype = a model which other things are copied or repeated, kind of like a pattern. A character or storyline that repeats again and again over time.

Follow along while I read from page 78 - 82.
How is the meaning of archetype that we learned connected to this idea of the minotaur as an archetype?

Activity 1
