Day #90 - 2/3/16 - Unit 3: Stations - Critical Analysis & Evaluation of Informational Texts & Poetry

Point to Ponder: First, clean out your Locker. Then clean up your Reading Folder. Take out all your Harry Potter stuff. Leave in your guided reading Cornell notes.

Critical analysis of Informational texts

    Using Cornell Notes to align the main character from your reading book with the hero's journey.
    • Objective = Aligning Two Texts
    • Write an essential question about how the protagonist is on the Hero's Journey
    • Use the depth of knowledge stems to write a level 1, 2, & 3 question before reading.
    • Write notes about the main idea and key details proving your character is a literary hero

    • When most people think of Egypt they always think of King Tut!! Even if people don't know much about ancient Egypt, most of them still have heard of King Tut.
    Who was King Tut & why does everybody know who he was?
    Key Questions:
    1. Why is King Tut one of the best known Kings/Pharaohs of ancient Egypt?
    2. Who discovered King Tut's tomb?
    3. What did the archeologist find inside the tomb?
    4. What do you think the archeologists learned from King Tut's tomb?
    Now consider this...
    Did Howard Carter unleash an ancient curse when he opened the tomb of King Tut?
