Day 155: 5/20/22 - Outlining & Organizing Research Day #3

        Today we will finish outlining and organizing information from our research articles.

  •  Outline & Organize the Solutions & Conclusions of your project

Outlining & Organizing Information

Research: 
Once you have 4 - 6 resources you will use the "Gathering Info" graphic organizer to record important information for your research essay and project. Read each article & use one graphic organizer per article. Be sure to record all the important information from your article onto the graphic organizer, including:

- Title of the article
- Name of the resource
- Important Info
- Quality of the resource

You are specifically looking for information that will help you explain:
  • The Problem/Issue
  • The Causes (or the Pros)
  • The Effects (or the Cons)
  • The Solutions

Outlining & Organizing:
Now that you have gathered information it is time to organize it to make it easier to put together your Learning Fair Presentation.

Your Goal:
Take all of the information you gathered and organize it according to:
  • Problem/Issue
  • Causes (or Pro's)
  • Effects (or Cons)
  • Solutions 
Steps:
  • Begin with 1 article at a time
  • Read each piece of information you gathered
  • Write it in the appropriate category
  • Repeat
  • You should be able to explain each of these categories in your own words
  • You should also be able to explain why you care about your topic, or why the topic is important

  • Work on Research Project
    • Planning
    • Headings & Sub-headings
      • Problem & Solution
      • Causes & Effects
      • Pros & Cons
    • Use the Decorative tape to create sections on your Tri-fold board
    • Information
      • Work on making printed materials for your research projects
      • That may include:
      • Headings (large, Bold, Various Fonts)
      • Subheadings (Large, Bold, Various Fonts)
      • Making bulleted lists
      • Printing picture, images, graphs, & diagrams
      • Bulleted lists can be Typed or Hand written
    • Images w/captions
    • Graphics like: Charts, Graphs, & Diagrams
    • Make them LARGE and use Colored backing paper to make them stand out.
    • Model
    • Notecards
