Day 88: 1/30/18 - D Day: The Hero's Journey & Harry Potter Ch 2

Good day 6th Graders,      
       Today we will continue unit 3, Critical Analysis & Evaluation of Fictional Texts. We will continue reading Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets.

1. Find your Hogwarts House Table and have a seat
2. Hand in your Grade Report to ME!!!!!!
3. Write your homework down in your agenda
4. Pick up a Copy of the Hero's Journey Diagram
Homework:
  • Finish reading Ch 2 of HP & the C.O.S. 
  • Choose a new note taking strategy & use it to take notes on Ch 2

-What notes did you take on chapter one?
-What out of those notes did you find to be the most important?
-Did you like the note taking strategy that you used?
-What about the note taking strategy did you like or dislike?

In your interactive notebook we will be completing a diagram of The Hero's Journey. Please get out your interactive notebook and flip to the next clean page.

Does anyone know the difference between a 
Literary Hero and a Hero?
Everyone will be getting out their copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. We will then begin reading Chapter 2 out-loud and you will be using a new note taking strategy on your next notebook page for Chapter 1.

RL6.3 - Describe how a particular story's plot unfolds in a series of events as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution
