Day #74 - 1/7/15 - Unit 2: Lesson 15 Part II

Good Morning 6th Graders,
      It is an ‘E’ day today, so we will go to Art. Please make sure you use your homeroom time wisely and get ready for your day. Don’t forget to sharpen your pencils and order your lunch. Last, pick up an Ipad and work on the Point to Ponder.

For Unit 2: Lesson 15






  • I can explain how various elements of mythology connect to the myth of Cronus.
  • I can use details from the text to determine a theme of the myth of Cronus.

    Activity #1 
    Reread the myth of Cronus
    Key Question:
    • What theme do you see in the myth of Cronus?
    • What evidence can you use to support your thinking?




    Activity #2
    Review the Key Elements of Mythology









    Key Questions:
    • How does the element of mythology help you determine a theme in the myth of Cronus?
    • What themes do you see now?
    • What themes do you see that are related to a struggle for power?
    Directions:
    Work with your Triad group members to think about each of the elements of mythology listed below and how they are related to a theme in the Cronus myth. In your reading strategies section write down your thinking for each element.
