Day #45 - 11/5/14 - Unit 2: Lesson 5 Part 1

Good Morning 6th Graders,
Today is an ‘E’ day so you will go to Art. Make sure that you have all your materials you will need for Block 1. Then take out your timelines so I can collect them this morning. Last pick up an Ipad for your Triad group and work on the P2P.
                             Thank you,
                          Mrs. Sargent & Mr. T.
P2P: Think about how the day went yesterday. Then write down as many adjectives you can to describe yesterday. Remember, Adjectives are describing words. Last, take out your timeline vocabulary notes and review for today’s quiz.

Directions: Work in your Triad Groups to create a Word Model. You will use your word model to teach the rest of the class about your word.
  • Reread the text, using context clues to determine the meaning of words.
  • Use a dictionary or thesaurus as a resource to help you if needed
  • Use markers to design a word model on chart paper. The model needs to have the following:
    • ****On the Front side****
    • the word
    • a synonym(a word that means the same)
    • an antonym(word that is the opposite)
    • a symbol (a picture representation)
    • a sentence using the word
    • ****On the Back side****
    • the word
    • the definition
