       Today we will continue unit 3, Critical Analysis & Evaluation of Fictional Texts by reading Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets.

1. Find your Hogwarts House Table and have a seat

2. Write your homework down in your agenda
3. Take out your homework from chapter 15

Homework:

• Finish Reading Ch 16
• Complete the written response questions
• Write in complete sentences. 
• This will be your last quiz grade for Harry Potter

House Discussion Summarizing Plot

W6.4 - Produce clear & coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Directions for House Discussions:

1. Collaborate & work with the members of your house to discuss the events of Chapter 11. Talk about the plot, and what you think is most important details.
2. Instead of writing summaries, I just want you to think about what events & details you would include in a summary.
3. Write a level 2 & a level 3 question.

Which House was able to write the best question on their Cornell Notes from last night?

The house with the best question will earn 25 points.

• Remember:
• Level 1 - Has 1 answer & the answer comes right out of the book
• Level 2 - Has multiple answers and puts you, the reader, into the book.
• Level 3 - Has multiple answers and pulls a situation/event from the book and asks you to apply it to your life

RL6.3 - Describe how a particular story's plot unfolds in a series of events as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution

Directions:

• As I read aloud Chapter 16 you will complete thw written response questions
• Make sure that your answers are written in complete sentences using words from the question
• Avoid using pronouns like, (They, He, She, Etc.) when you should be using proper nouns
• Be sure to use proper capitalization & punctuation
