Day #44 - 11/4/14 - Unit 2: Lesson 4 Part II

Good Morning 6th Graders,
         I'm sorry I have to be out today. Be sure you are respectful and responsible for the Guest Teacher. 
        Today is a ‘D’ day so you will go to Gym. Make sure that you have all your materials you will need for Block 1, including your gym clothes and deodorant. Last pick up an Ipad for your Triad group and work on the P2P.

P2P: Review your timeline vocabulary with your triad group. Remember you have a quiz tomorrow.

  • I can get the gist of sections of "The Key Elements of Mythology."
  • I can reflect on the things that close readers do.

Activity #1
Review the Venn Diagram
  • Many of the similarities are common in most myths. 
  • What were the similarities?
    • These similarities can be seen in many myths.

Read the Key Elements of Mythology

Elements = a part or aspect of something, especially something that is really important. 



Wrap up
Discuss as a whole group.
What is the gist of each section?
Complete the Exit Ticket.
(Lesson 4 page 14)

Finish Reading Chapter 13 (Page 203-211)
Write down questions you have about the chapter. 
Record questions on your book notes

Homework - Finish Reading Chapter 13. Writing at least 5 questions total for things that you wonder about.

1. Tell me the title and author 
2. Write the Gist
3. Write a brief summary

4. Describe the main character (What type of person is the main character?)
5. Make an Inference about the main character. Use evidence from the text to support your inference. 

Paragraph 3
6. Write a prediction about what you think might happen in the book.
7. Finish with a question or something that you wonder.
