(I) Everyone thinks Max saved Kevin from Tony D and his gang on the 4th of July, but Max thinks Freak saved him. (C) I think that Max saved Kevin. (E) In the story it was Kevin who called Tony D. a Cretin so I believe it was Kevin who Tony wanted to beat up. Max was also the one to physically run away and he had to carry Kevin. (R) In my opinion if Max was not there to help Kevin, he would have been in real trouble.

(I) Everyone thinks Max saved Kevin from Tony D and his gang on the 4th of July, but Max thinks Freak saved him. (C) I think that Kevin saved Max. (E) In the story it was Kevin who told Max where to go when they were trying to escape. Max would have gotten caught by Tony D. and his Gang if Kevin was not there to act as his brain and come up with the plan to go into the pond. (R) In my opinion if Kevin was not there to help Max, he would have been in real trouble.

Directions:
  • On the next page of your notebook set up the date, title and page number.
  • Copy the bullets about transition words
  • Glue the Transition Words booklet into your notebook
