Day #163 - 6/3/16 - Unit 4: Research Presentations & Prequel to Frightful's Mountain

Good Morning Rebels,
         Today is a C day so we will go to Gym.  We will finish presentations about environmental issues, and watch the second half of the Prequel to Frightful's Mountain. After you order your lunch and sharpen your pencils, please work on the Point to Ponder.

    Presentation Expectations:
    • Use a loud, clear voice
    • Make eye contact with the audience
    • Present your research regarding the environmental issue including: a description of the issue, the problem, the solution, pro's and cons, causes, effect, and recommendations
    • Discuss your visual display and what you tried to illustrate 
    • Respond to questions

    Prequel to Frightful's Mountain

    My Side of the Mountain
    Directions:
    Use a set of Cornell notes to help you answer the essential question as you watch the first half of the movie. Write information you learn about Sam, Bando, and Frightful. Include any inferences you can make. Record any questions you have.
    Essential Question:
    • What did you learn about Sam, Bando & Frightful that can help you understand their characters in Frightful's Mountain?

    Homework: Finish Reading chapter 17 & 18 and complete your lit circle job (Due Monday 6/6)

      1. The students did a great job with their presentations. It's part of the learning fair we put on each year. It's a wonderful culminating activity where the students get to showcase all the learning they've done in the last unit.

        Delete
