A conjunction is a type of transition word that joins two small sentences to make longer more complex sentences. ANDBUT, and OR are the most popular, and are used more than any other.

Directions:
  • On the next page of your notebook set up the date, title and page number.
  • Copy the bullets about transition words
  • Glue the Transition Words booklet into your notebook
Notes:
Using Transitions
  • Transition words help writing to flow from one idea to another
  • They can be used in the beginning, middle, or end of sentences
  • The type of transition to use depends on the purpose

NOW GO TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM AND COMPLETE THE PRACTICE. You can work independently or with a partner.
