Today is an ‘E’ Day so we will go to Art. Be sure you order your lunch, and get yourself ready so we aren’t late for Art. On the road of trials today make sure you have:

P2P: Today we will be starting Unit 2 in ELA. You will need clean out your ELA binder of your Unit 1 materials. You NEED to keep:
- Copy of The Hero's Journey from Lesson 8
- Any writing pieces that we completed
- I can make inferences about Percy based on details from the text.
Activity #1 - Daily Notes
Key Question:
- What are the Stages in Act III of the Hero’s Journey?
- For Differentiation:
- Notes are modeled by the teacher.
- A copy of the notes is printed and provided for students who need it.

Homework: Read Myths and Legends. (Lesson 1, Page 10. Underline 1 detail in each paragraph that helps you understand the main idea of that paragraph.

- Read the Article that is at just the Right level for YOU!!
- Differentiation within the reading level of the article
- Complete the 5 W’s Graphic Organizer, and then use it to write a paragraph about the article

Station 3 Independent Reading (Fiction/Narrative)
- Remember to fill in your “Book Notes” at the end of each reading session
- Letters will be due on Friday Oct. 17 (Block 1 only)
- Differentiation within the independent level of book that the students are reading. Further differentiation and feedback is given to the students through the letters that I write back to the students.

- Be prepared to share your writing - we will be turning your journal entry’s into longer writing pieces that we will share at our Literacy Celebration at the end of the year, so be sure you so your best on your journal entry’s

7. Finish with a question or something that you wonder.
