- Which character would you be friends with? why?
- What is your favorite part?
- What is the setting? Where and when does the story take place?
- Can you describe one of the problems that the main character has to deal with?

- Pick up a copy of Freak the Mighty
- Write your homework in your agenda
- Log in to your computer, and go to your clever dashboard
Homework:
- Finish the "Who are You?" activity (Due Monday)
Activity #1
Unit 1 Pretest
The unit 1 pretest has 2 parts.
Part 1 - Multiple choice: You will required to read several passages and then you will need to select the best response.
Directions:
- From your Clever Dashboard go to Renaissance
- Find STAR Custom
- Select the Unit 1 Pre-test
- Read carefully
- Take your time
- Do your best
- Once you are done with part 1 you may go on to part 2
Part 2 - Written Response: You will need to read a short passage and then respond with a short paragraph.
Directions:
- Close your computer
- Pick up a copy of the Unit 1 Writing pre-test from the front table.
- Put your first & last name on your paper
- Read the passage
- Respond to the writing prompt on the lines provided
- Use proper capitalization and punctuation
- Write neatly & put spaces between your words.
- Spell words correctly
- When you are done check over your work.
- Make sure that it is done to the best of your ability
- Put your finished work in the Red bin
- Take out your independent reading book and read quietly when you are all done
