         Today we will be continue unit 2 about Critical Analysis & Evaluation of Informational Texts. Please make sure you have all your materials.

• Read Chapter 17. Complete Cornell notes. Be sure to write 3-4 questions using your D.O.K. Stems to write  level 1, level 2, & level 3 questions.

Standards

• RI6.5 - Analyze how a particular sentence, paragraph, or chapter fit into the overall structure of a text and how it contributes to the development of ideas. 

First:
What text structure would you use if you wanted to write about each of the following scenarios? 

• How to prevent wildfires, and their impacts on a forest
• Campfires vs wild fires
• A time that I got burned by a fire and had to go to the hospital
• Campfires
• A time that I built a campfire

Directions:

1. Work in groups of 3
2. Read each passage
3. Use your notebook to determine what text structure was used to craft each.
4. Record your answer on the line.
5. You may underline or annotate your article to show your thinking.

We will do the first 1 together.
