Learning Stations
#1 Guided Reading (We do)
Using Cornell Notes to align the main character from your guided reading book with the hero's journey.
- Objective = Aligning Two Texts
- Write an essential question
- How does _________________ fit the pattern of the hero's journey, and what part of the hero's journey?
- Use the depth of knowledge stems to write a level 1, 2, & 3 question before reading.
- Write notes while reading about main events and big ideas.
- Focus on events that will help you answer the essential question.
#2 Independent Reading (You do)
- Read: Finish reading the assigned pages
- Build Vocabulary: Add words from your Guided Reading book to your list of vocabulary words
#3 Word Work (You do)
- Use the dictionary or the word central link to find the location of challenging words from your guided reading book.
- Use colored pencils and markers to create a Frayer Model Poster for the 'Word Hall'
#5 Computer
- Go to Mr. T's Social Studies site
- Scroll down to play the video titled, "Mesopotamia: Crash Course World History
- Answer the Key Questions that are directly below the video on Loose leaf. Hand in what you completed at the end of class time.
Homework: Use your cornell notes to write a summary for todays reading from your Guided Reading Book. Be sure you focus on aligning your book with the hero's journey. Use evidence from both texts!!!
