        Today is a ‘B’ Day so we will go to Art. Please enter the room quietly and make sure you have all your materials. First, please answer the Point to Ponder. Next, I want you to pick up a Madlibs from the music stand and work on it with a neighbor at your table. Be sure to communicate in a voice that is appropriate for the classroom. When you finish you may read quietly at your seat.

Point to Ponder: Today we will read chapter 8 of Freak the Mighty. It is titled, Dinosaur Brain. Use what you know about the characters, setting, conflict, theme, and Plot to make a prediction about what might happen in Chapter 8. (Reading Response Section of your Notebook)

Academic Questions for Chapter 8:

• On page 41 is Max a hero? Explain your thinking.
• How is the way Gram and Grim treat Max different from what he is used to?
• On page 43 Gram tells Max to "run away" from Tony D. but Grim says he's not running away, he's taking "evasive action." How do the different word choices affect the feeling of how do handle Tony.
• How does Kevin change Max's daily routine? 
• What is an archetype?
• Does anyone else feel like Max on page 46 when he is looking up a word in the dictionary?
