Example
Now that Bud is living in
Grand Rapids with Herman E. Calloway’s Band his life is very different from
when he was living in Flint. When Bud was in Flint he had to go to the mission
to get many of his meals. The mission is a place where men, woman, and children
who have no money and nothing to eat could go to receive a free meal and it was
always the same thing to eat for everyone. In Grand Rapids Bud gets to go out
to eat in restaurants where he gets to order anything he wants to eat. When Bud
was living in Flint he had to live in an orphanage, or at a foster home, and
Bud never liked having to live like that. In Grand Rapids he gets to live with
Miss Thomas and Herman E. Calloway. Bud even gets his own bedroom to sleep in.
Bud’s life has improved greatly since he left Flint to go to Grand Rapids. I
think someday he might even become a famous musician like his grandfather
Herman E. Calloway.
