ATTENTION! ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!!!
This is for ALL 6th grade students. I have noticed an alarming trend already this year. Many students are typing on google classroom and they are not following the rules of writing. They are beginning sentences without capitals letters, and they are ending sentences without punctation. Whenever you are writing, or communicating with me, or any other student using google classroom or one of the other online tools we'll be using this year YOU MUST USE proper capitalization and punctuation. By now you all know that sentences start with a capital letter and end with punctuation! Additional, all words must be spelled out. You are not to use texting shorthand. For example: you may not use "u" for the word "you". From here on out this is the expectation. This is language arts, not Instagram, snapchat, facebook, or tiktok. This is school, and as such, your writing is being evaluated, so you need to show me you know how to write properly! I know that there will be some errors from time to time, but you must remember that communicating through google classroom is not the same as text messaging or other forms of social media. This is an academic platform, and therefore all communications with me should done using proper rules of writing, which includes capitals and punctuation.
