Did you all have a wonderful Weekend? I wonder what you all did. Today is an ‘A’ day so we will go to Music. We will also go to the computer lab to do our Lit Circle Discussion Online. We will then continue our research and take a quiz on chapter 10.
Please remember to order your lunch, sharpen your pencils, and then work on the Point to Ponder.

P2P: What did you do over the weekend?
Directions:
For today’s Lit Circle Discussion you will be blogging back and forth with your classmates:
Part 1 (10 Minutes)
Step 1: Create New post & give it a title.
Post title = Your Name, Ch10 - Job name
Ex: Zoey Ware, Ch 10 - Summarizer
Step 2: Write down the information for your job.
Ex:
- Discussion Director - Write your questions for people to respond to.
- Character Captain - Write down the characters names and the important information pertaining to this chapter for each character.
- Summarizer - Type out your summary and key points.
- Analyzer - Type out your analysis for the questions you chose were most important to this chapter
- Vocabulary - Write the name of your word and the definition. Ask if anyone can use it in an original sentence.
- Illustrator - Describe the scene you illustrated and why you chose that scene. Does anyone have questions about why you chose that scene.
- Passage Picker - The passage I picked was... (insert the passage, include the page number) Describe why you think that passage is important to the text.
**When you are done creating your post, publish it to your classmates so that others can comment on your post.
Part 2 (10 Minutes)
Comment on at least 3 other student’s posts.
Part 2 (10 Minutes)
- Be sure that once a person has 5 comments, you should find someone else who has less comments to respond to before replying to the person who has more than 5. Every person should be getting around 5 comments.

& Tracing an Argument:

Use your key words & questions to search using the links to the following search engines
- When you get your search results be sure to look at the name of the website, and the name of the article. Look at the ending of the website to help you.
.gov = government - sponsored by the government
.org = organization - sponsored by various organizations
.edu = education - sponsored by schools and universities
.com = commercial - sponsored by individuals or commercial businesses
- Begin by clicking on the article & scanning the info.
- Use the graphic organizer to record the Title of the article, the name of the resource, and important information.
- Decide what the authors claims are.
- Select what evidence the author uses to support their claim
- Evaluate if there is enough evidence to support the claim.
- Decide What i the authors Main Argument.
- Evaluate the Quality of the source
* You need multiple sources!!! (at least 3-4 & 1 book if possible)
* You will fill in a “Tracing the author’s argument for each resource.
